Stanley Jarosz, of Mount Prospect, died in Alexian Brothers Medical Center on July 13, 2017 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois at the age of 94.

Beloved husband of the late Maria Jarosz; dear uncle of Elizabeth Harasimowicz and several nieces and nephews Irena Szymanska, Wanda Sieradzka, Barbara Kozlowska, Janina Rekawik, Jadwiga Norwa, Krystyna Kolman, Jan Jarosz, Kazimierz Norwa, Maggie Bolinger, George Harasimowicz Michelle Harasimowicz, Elizabeth and Jerzy Harasimowicz.

Stanley is survived by his nieces, Elizabeth Harasimowicz, Irena Szymanska, Wanda Sieradzka, Barbara Kozlowska, Janina Rekawicka, Jadwiga Norwa, Krystyna Kolman and his nephews, Jan Jarosz and Kazimierz Norwa, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Lubinska Jarosz, his parents Jan Jarosz and Franciszka Rylko, and his siblings Jan, Maria, Zofia, Janina, Wladyslawa who died in Siberia. A veteran of World War II, he participated in the battle at Monte Cassino, Bologna, Ancona, as well as others .

Stanley was born on November 11, 1922 in Czortkow, Poland to Jan Jarosz and Franciszka Rylko. On February 10, 1940, he and his family were sent to Siberia. During his time in Siberia, he was recruited into the Allied armies under the leadership of General Wladyslaw Anders. He completed his high school education in Italy following his military service. Following the official demobilization from army, Stanley spent a few years in England. In 1949, Stanley left England for the United States. He came to New York, New York where he worked for a couple of years and then moved to Chicago, Illinois. After moving to Chicago, Illinois, Stanley began working for Parker Hannifin in the production of metal parts from 1952 until retirement. He married Maria Lubinska in Wroclaw, Poland in November 1959. Over the years, the couple worked hard, enjoyed life, and took loving care of their family and friends in their warm and welcoming home.

Stanley was a generous, loyal, committed, and frank individual who loved working outside, discussing history and politics, and reflecting on current events. He was an active and dedicated member of the Polish American Congress, the Polish National Alliance, and several veteran organizations.
